Sample Pet Loss Thank You Notes

Below you will find pet loss thank you wording examples to use in thank you notes and cards. Wording for cards thanking family, friends or a veterinary surgery.

I am sorry you have lost your beloved pet. Whether a family pet has died or gone missing it is a heartbreaking time for the family.

When our two rabbits, sadly, died a couple of years ago, within one year of each other, we were all devastated.

Only write pet loss thank you notes if you feel up to it.  Writing them and talking about your beloved pet often helps.  Otherwise, thank people personally when you next see them.

Pet Loss Thank You Wording

Dear Jane,

Thank you so much for your sympathy card you sent upon hearing of Barnie's death.

I have felt really depressed since he died and receiving your card and beautiful flowers eased my sadness.

As you know Barnie wasn't just a dog, he was my best friend and and I shall miss him dearly. It is good to know that friends like you are thinking of me at this sad time.

Kind regards,

Dear Tom,

Thank you so much for your kind words you sent upon the death of Bounder.

Only another dog owner could know how I feel at this sad time. Having had Bounder by my side for the last 15 years, I knew I would miss him dearly. However, the feelings I felt upon the loss of my cherished pet were quite unprepared.

Thanks once again for your sympathy.

Kind regards,

Dear friends and family and to all those involved in the search for Mouse,

We are eternally grateful for the outpouring of love and support we have received on the loss of our darling, dog, Mouse.  We have not given up hope that somehow she will be found. Please know that we have read every single message and would have liked to respond in person.  But due to the sheer number, unfortunately,  this is not possible.

Thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts.

A very special pet loss thank you card.

This card really is so very special and has been ordered by my visitors to my site on many occasions.

This lovely card was designed to allow grieving pet owners to thank their vet doctor or clinic, pet daycare or groomer for many years of service and care.

You are able to upload your own large sized favorite photograph of you and your best friend for the front, and two additional smaller sized images for the inside, framed nicely in polaroid style frames with faux sticky tape. Two lines from a pet loss poem can be changed to your own text, or easily altered to suit single owners if desired. Then personalize it with your heartfelt message and names inside.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Returned Pet Thank You Note

Dear Mr Smith,

A note to say thanks a million for finding our beloved cat Daisy. The whole family were in despair when she went missing and it was the longest 4 days of worry and concern.

The kids and I are over the moon to have her returned safe and sound - all thanks to you.

Please accept this small gift as a token of our gratitude.

Sincerely yours,

Vet Thank You Note

Dear Dr Stadler and team,

Please accept this token of our thanks for the great care you took of Chipper. We are so happy to have our little bunny back home with us again and are truly grateful.

He is back hopping round the garden and it is wonderful to see him back to his normal self.

Thanks again and kind regards,

Sarah Taylor and family

Expresssing Sympathy - Loss Of Pet Wording

If someone you know has recently lost a pet, expressing sympathy for pet loss is much easier as pet sympathy cards, gifts and memorial products are more commonly available.

Lots of pets even have their own instagram account so often words of condolences are offered here.

Send your grieving friend a card or sympathy letter expressing your condolences. Add a personal message inside or perhaps a poem.  Just be there to offer you support and friendship.

Rainbow Bridge Poem

There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth. It is called Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours.

Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies , the pet goes to this special place.

There is always food and water and warm spring weather.

The old and frail are young again.

Those who are maimed are made whole again.

They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing.

They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth.

So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!

The nose twitches!

The ears are up!

The eyes are staring!

And this one suddenly runs from the group!

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her into your arms and embrace.

Your face is kissed again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.
