Nurse Appreciation Week 2024

Nurse Appreciation Week takes place from the 6th - 12th May 2021.

National Nurses Day is celebrated on 6th May and marks the beginning of appreciation week which ends on 12th May, Florence Nightingale's birthday.  Show your appreciation to nurses and write a heartfelt letter of appreciation or a nurse thank you note to your favourite nurse.

When my mum was in hospital receiving therapy for her cancer, she wrote thank you cards and gave gifts of chocolates to the nurses who cared for her.  A small token, yes, but a thoughtful and appreciated one.

In fact, nurses should be thanked all year round, so don't just leave it for nurse appreciation week.

Thank You To Nurse
Patient Passed From Coronavirus

Dear Nurse,

I would like to say thank you for arranging the video call that allowed me to see and speak to my mum for the very last time.

I am so grateful that you were by her side, until the end, and that she didn't die all alone.  That was her greatest fear, you know, to be alone when she died. That you were there for her and held her hand as she passed has comforted me and given me a sense of peace.

My family and I are so grateful for all your hard work and dedication.  We are all praying that you keep safe during this terrible time. We are eternally grateful.

With appreciation,

---------------------------------------

Dear Nurse,

Thank you for being with dad and caring for him as you did. It is a relief for the whole family knowing that he wasn't alone, when he passed. I am sure he knew you were by his side.

He thought a lot of you and he enjoyed the daily banter and the sense of humour you both shared. We are heartbroken that we were unable to be with him, but knowing that he was well cared for until the end, has put our minds at rest.

As a token of our appreciation, please accept the gift voucher enclosed. Dad told us it was your favourite place.

May you and your family keep safe during this terrible time.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Letter Of Appreciation For Nurse

Dear Nurse,

I would like to express my hearfelt thanks for taking such good care of my Mother while she was on Ward 2B for her hip operation.

It was a difficult time for us all but it put my mind at rest knowing that she was in such capable and professional hands. Mum even said that being in the hospital was like being at home!

You are kind, considerate and above all a valuable asset to our local hospital.

Thank you once again.

Kind regards,

-------------------------

Dear Nurse,

We would like to express our sincere thanks for all the care and attention you gave our baby boy while he was in the intensive care unit.

I am sure you understand how stressful it can be for parents in such a difficult situation. However, your calm and helpful manner put us at ease and we were able to go home at night knowing that he was in safe hands.

As a token of our appreciation please accept this small donation for ward 2B. I am sure you will be able to put it to good use.

Thank you once again for all the loving care you gave to him. What a special place and what a special person you are.

Sincere thanks,

----------------------

Dear Nurse Peters,

I don't know if you remember me, but I was a patient on your ward 5C until the end of March 2018. I would like to express my sincere thanks for all the heartfelt care I had while I was in hospital.

Suffering a heart attack and falling ill so suddenly, was a huge shock. Thank goodness you always found the time to reassure me with your words of encouragement and explained what all the medical jargon actually meant.

I hope you and your family are well. I enjoyed exchanging details about our children and family. I looked forward to those few minutes we had each day.

As a token of my appreciation, please accept this small donation.

Sincerely yours,

Jane Hammer
